How badly did I mess up?

For context I’ve subbed about 4 to 5 days a week for the past three months. I normally sub middle school and only take jobs at elementary schools if it is smaller group work (SPED or ESL). Today I had a half day shift at an elementary school for an ESL teacher in the morning. I got there and they told me I would instead be covering for a third grade class and handed me the plans. I headed to the class, feeling overwhelmed, read the plans and instantly knew this wasnt going to be a good fit. I headed back to the office and explained I wasn’t comfortable taking this assignment and would there be any way for me to get my original assignment back. They were maybe going to put me in a SPED class but ultimately decided not to. They said they didn’t have an assignment for me so I left. I feel bad leaving them short-staffed but I frankly don’t feel comfortable leading a full class of 30 third graders. Does choosing not to accept this assignment reflect poorly on me? Should I be worried about being black listed? Idk it’s the same district of the middle school I work at pretty often and I have a really good relationship with them but I’m worried how not accepting this assignment will effect my relationship with the district.

Also this assignment is two days so I have to go back to the same elementary school on Monday and hope they don’t hate me/actually have the assignment I picked up open. I’m very much dreading that.
