Just booked a last minute trip to Cornwall. Best hike/walk that is reachable without a car?

Hello,

Me and my partner are living in London but we are actually from across the pond. We decided to book a last minute train tickets to Penzance this weekend and we’ll be in Cornwall for 3 nights.

Our rough plan is to do a hike one day along the coast, and I have read that the hikes in that area are world class. The only issue is we don’t have a car, and we travel as affordable as possible so we would only take a bus/train but not Uber or taxi. Is there any hikes that you guys recommend that are somewhat easy to access from public transport?

Is Penzance a good spot to stay for 3 nights or would you guys recommend St.Ives or another town? Our tickets are into Penzance but we are okay travelling, however Penzance does seem the most efficient.

Would we be able to hitchhike in Cornwall or is that quite frowned upon? That would be a nice option for us to save money but still get to travel around and see all the bueaitful towns or hikes.

We are also open to recommendations on what we should do. We were thinking of doing St.Michael Mount and maybe a day trip to St.Ives or POSSIBLY Isles of Scilly, if you guys think the day trip ferry option is worth it.

Please give us suggestions, we are very open to anything but enjoy history, tours, pubs/drinking, nature, and are young/healthy enough to be open to any sort of activity.

Thank you for reading and any advice or comments is very much appreciated 🙏🏻

Travelling to Romania in late October - is this too late in season? Do we need to rent a car?

Hello, me and my partner are travelling to Romania at the end of October, and then will spend 6-7 days in Romania before taking the overnight Soviet style train to Moldova. In Moldova, we will probably only spend a few days but are hoping to go see transnistria for a day (do we need a guide for that?)

So my two questions are, will there still be orange and yellow trees or will winter have fully started?

We weren’t going to rent a car because I don’t have my international drivers permit (although I do have my full license from Canada). Do we need to rent a car or can we make way with transit well enough? We are hoping to see the Transylvania mountains, Brasov, Sibiu, Bucharest but we are also open to suggestions. Is there any sort of loop that we can do using public transit?

We will spend a night or two in Bucharest but we travel a lot, and we like a fast paced trip where we cover lots of ground and don’t spend more than 2-3 nights in the same location.

We are very excited to come visit this wonderful country, it seems so diverse and like there is a lot to do, so some advice from locals would be excellent!

Thank you/ Mulțumesc!
