Hi everybody,

I recently bought a 320i model with a fully electric convertible roof. At first, the roof worked great, and I had no problems with it, but recently, my tonneau cover started acting up, and it is making knocking sounds when it opens. From what I have read, it is a common problem, and what I need to do is to remove the motor and straighten the frame, but this will only be a temporary solution because the frame will eventually bend back. I am also planning to change the struts that help the tonneau cover lift up to minimize the stress applied to the motor, hoping that the frame will stay straight for a longer period of time.

My question is, has anybody found a way to reinforce that frame so that this will no longer happen? Thanks.
