Does anyone ever feel like their partner has been replaced or from another universe? I know I’m going to get naysayers but really and truly? He also doesn’t remember vivid moments that has happened? He also looks slightly different.

We picked up our Great Dane about a year and a half ago as a puppy from a breeder in Louisiana. I have noticed that a great deal of their dogs gets returned. I have reached out to the breeder. I have not heard back yet and about a year ago he slowly started showing aggression to other dogs to where it now has built up to him biting another dog a couple months ago which we paid for immediately took responsibility.
Now when he’s in the car and we drive-by other dogs he barks at other dogs aggressively. He just gets into a mode that it’s unrecognisable.
He’s very sweet with us. I’ve tried to get help from the vet. We live on a remote island. We are a military family so luckily there are places we can go where we won’t see another human being for a long walks but we went for a walk yesterday and even though my husband held him firmly on a leash, he saw another dog and was uncontrollable.
We do have the mouthpiece for him. I just don’t know what to do until I’m able to get to a place where we can properly train him. I believe he needs a dog trainer. I’ve watched Cesar the Dog whisperer episodes -and I have tried some of his tactics . We obviously love him but we want him and other dogs to be safe and it really is a concern as we got a Great Dane because we loved our black lab who was the sweetest and most friendliest dog he unfortunately ran off from the leash and was hit by a car on New Year’s Day almost 2 years ago and so six months later we brought home our Great Dane but he is the exact opposite and we just don’t know what to do. I’ve tried to be firm. I’ve tried the little tricks. Anything people can offer until I can get to mainland which we have about a year before transfer season.
