At trinity river.

My son has decided no birthday party this year but a cruise. I’m a single mom and struggle financially but I’ve been saving this entire past year for him. Through my job discount I found a 7night Costa Maya, Isla de Roatan, and Cozumel trip with an inside room at $607.58 after tax. Because of the money that will be spent when we get off the boat I’m opting for the least amount I can spend on the cruise. But will it hurt the experience if I don’t upgrade or will it possibly hurt my pockets in the end if I don’t? Adding the beverages/wifi package is a total of $1,505.58 after tax. Also are there any beverages that are free? Water, etc.? Oh and how do I pay for things once I’m on the boat, credit card? And get off the boat, cash? Will I need pesos instead? Thanks and sorry if these are dumb questions, we’ve never traveled.
