I have a chihuahua mix ~9 pounds and almost 5 years old. He had seizures since we adopted him at age 1 but have been getting more frequent and severe. About 6 months ago he clustered and we took him to the ER. They started him on keppra every 8 hours 125mg. His seizures have gotten better and he went on a two month streak seizure free but as of lately hes having them about every 2-3 weeks. Neurologist thinks about once a month is what we should aim in terms of management and has increased the keppra to 250mg every 8 hours. Is this too much for his little body? Idk if im making the right decision on increasing meds but just want what's best for my little dude. Any advice or insights would be helpful. Thanks!
