The Unnecessary Backlash Around Ishan

I genuinely don’t understand why people are making such a huge issue out of Ishan’s gesture. Everywhere I open social media, I see posts, reels, and discussions making it look much bigger than it actually was.

Cricket has always had emotion, celebrations, passion, banter, and moments where players express themselves after high-pressure games. SRH had a massive win, qualified strongly, emotions were high, and Ishan reacted in the moment. Not every gesture needs to become a controversy.

Even people who watched it closely have different opinions — some saw it as harmless competitive banter, while others took offense. But social media today often turns one small moment into something massive within hours.

At the end of the day, Ishan is still an Indian player. The same people criticizing him today will celebrate his performances when he wins matches for India tomorrow. That’s sports. Players are humans too — emotions come out in big moments.

Constructive criticism is fine, but nonstop negativity over every small thing feels unnecessary. Cricket should also have space for personality, passion, and emotion.

Personally, it honestly feels sad seeing a small gesture become such a huge discussion. I genuinely don’t get why people are stretching it this far.
