Is anyone else deeply bothered by Angie King endorsing Second Skin Industries when Magnus Pro is just repacked China PPF?

Hey guys, just wanted to get this off my chest and see if the local car community feels the same way.

We all know Angie King. She is local automotive royalty, a genuine car enthusiast who knows her builds inside and out, and someone whose opinion carries massive weight in the PH car scene. Because of that, when she vouches for a shop or a product, people fork over serious cash based on that trust.

Which brings me to Second Skin Industries (SSI) and their heavy push for Magnus Pro PPF.

Angie has been actively endorsing and featuring Second Skin (vlogging their Alabang branch, getting her own Ferrari 458 GT3 wrapped by them, promoting it for high-end celebrity cars like Joshua Garcia's Range Rover, Sam YG's LC300, etc.). Magnus Pro is routinely marketed here as this ultra-premium, top-tier, "luxury global brand" with pricing to match—we're talking six figures for a full wrap.

But here is the open secret that a lot of people in the detailing and wrapping industry know: Magnus Pro is widely known to be rebranded China PPF by Second Skin Industries.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with Chinese manufacturing—plenty of decent mid-tier films come from there. But there is something wrong with the severe lack of transparency. It’s being marketed and priced at the same tier as actual premium, vertically integrated US/European films (like Xpel or Stek), while using white-labeled rolls from Chinese OEMs.

What severely disappoints me is that Angie is one of the most knowledgeable car figures in the country. She knows how the supplier backend works. She knows what actual premium film is vs. rebranded rolls. Yet, she’s putting her massive stamp of approval on a brand charging premium, top-shelf prices to unsuspecting car owners who think they’re getting elite-tier global tech.

It feels less like an enthusiast recommending a great product and more like a pure business play where influencer marketing is being used to justify massive, artificial markups.

Are we just supposed to ignore the obvious rebranding because it’s a big-name influencer backing it? Has anyone here actually called them out on the true origin of their films, or had experiences dealing with Magnus Pro vs. the established premium brands?

Let’s discuss.
