2024 Escape Phev started.... crackling even when off? (Sound warning)
I went grocery shopping today, and just as I was reversing it got BLASTED with this loud crackling sound. Extremely loud, to the point of painful. I turned the car off it continues. I get out of the car and shut the door... it continues. I turned the car back on and put it in reverse.... it continues so I shut it off and call 911 for potential Phev fire. There was no smoke or weird smells. They come and scan it with a tool, all the high voltage is the appropriate temperature. They only thing they found that was odd, was there was some after market welding fix in the engine area, not done to my knowledge, and some white powder stuff around it. They advised I do not drive the car or turn it on, and have it towed. I did get it towed, but im not able to tow it to the dealer till it opens after the holiday. The sound lasted for 10-15 minutes. Has anyone else experienced this?
