I recently ended a 3-year on-and-off relationship. I didn’t leave because I stopped loving him—in fact, being with him feels very addictive, which is why this has been so hard. I left because I don’t like certain ways he behaves, and our circumstances make a future together complicated. We come from different religions, which creates major family issues, along with other practical obstacles we’d need to overcome.
