Down sizing debating

Debating on taking my PC from this to a black wood Liam Li A3? There's nothing wrong with my system so it's that old adage where if it ain't broke don't fix it but I don't know if I want the aesthetic of the A3

Issues with monitor deep sleep.

So I've been having this problem with this monitor for about over a year now and finally after deep diving digging, having it warrantied and returned back to me, I finally figured out what was causing the problem. Anyone that's experiencing a issue where their monitor will not wake up after sleep or power save mode and the only way to get it to turn back on is to power it on and off. Check your monitor and see if you have a setting called DDC/CI. And turn it off. Apparently this is supposed to give you control in the desktop environment to adjust the brightness and stuff like that. I recommend turning it off as soon as I turn it off. My issue with it waking up from deep sleep or power safe mode went away not all monitors have this or it may be listed as a different option. I have a Acer monitor. My two other monitors are MSI. They do not have the setting.

Had pleasant surprise

So I've been wanting to get Windows off my main PC. The only issue I had was managing 3 monitors. In desktop mode I'm able to use them with no issues. So out in my living room on the coffee table I have a 16' portable monitor I use when I want to game and watch a movie or show with my wife. In Windows I knew how to switch the monitors. So since steamos by default looks for HDMI I wanted to switch to that monitor. I went into game mode and both monitors shut off that are hooked up display port leaving only the one monitor active. So now I can play in the living room and when I'm done switch out from game mode back to desktop turns back on my monitors and turns off one in the living room. So pleased it works this well bye Windows.

Diy

I literally built these two machines prior to the day that steam released the operating system. My intent was not to keep them but to resell them. Just wanted to see if I can build a very clean two ATX micro form factor PCS and how they would turn out an alternative then buying a steam machine. They came out really good and was going to install bazzite but then I saw the steamos drop so I installed the steamos on the black PC and as you can see in the pictures I fixed it to my desk on the bottom and I've been using it ever since. So I'm very pleased with the performance. I wanted to resell both systems but I was getting lowballed really bad. My wife ended up liking the white PC so I ended up giving it to her and then decided to keep the other PC. It kind of felt like a piece of artwork. And I wouldn't feel right. Just reselling something. I put a lot and work and effort into. The specs of both machines are identical except for the black one has 32 gigs of RAM whereas the white one only has 16 gigs RAM. My setup's pretty nice. There is no space in living room to have the PC in there. So since it's underneath my desk and on the other side is the TV. I drilled a conduit hole in the wall that can feed the cables through and so the PC actually connects to my TV and I can use it on my big 65-in TV. Still keep my daily driver and I can play on the external monitor that's on my living room coffee table while I'm watching TV with my wife. The last picture has the specifications for both machines if anyone's interested. It seems like the meta from what I see out there that people are using the same type of specifications when building their own steam machine.
