Looking to meet some new people at uOttawa :)

Hey! I’m a third-year Communication student at uOttawa :) I’ve been wanting to meet some new people on campus and make a few more friends, especially people I could grab coffee with, study with, or just hang out between classes. I’m pretty chill and a little introverted at first, but I’d love to meet someone and see if we vibe! Feel free to message me :)

Traveling to China from Canada – need reliable access to Google services and social media for school/work

Hi everyone,

I'm a Canadian university student and I'll be visiting China for about 5 weeks this summer (July–August).

I need reliable access to:

- Gmail

- Google Drive

- Google Calendar

- LinkedIn

- Instagram

- Facebook

- Zoom/Microsoft Teams

- University portals and email

I'll also be attending online meetings regularly and managing some social media while I'm there, so reliability is really important.

I'm currently with Bell in Canada and already use an eSIM. I'm considering getting a travel eSIM but I'm not sure which option works best in China right now.

For those who have recently travelled to or lived in China:

  1. Which eSIM provider did you use?

  2. Were Google services and social media apps accessible?

  3. Did you still need a VPN?

  4. How was the speed and reliability for video calls and meetings?

  5. If you had to choose one setup for work/school purposes, what would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!
