updated earnings projections, longs rejoice

Previously I had $2.4B for overall box and loss of $100 million or so for our beloved whipping boy, AMC.

Due to outperformance from movies like Obsession, Michael, etc, I'm going to update the total box to $2.65B (almost what it was in 2023 and 2025) and the earnings +$0 to +$25mm.

If positive, this would be the 2nd positive quarterly earnings report since covid ended, I believe. On a per share basis though, it'd be about 4 cents at the highest.

3Q should be interesting. 4 big movies including Spiderman and Odyssey but not much else. Could see it breaking even or slightly worse.

Still estimating on the year, they lose $200- $250 million.

Source: 10Q. Do you apes even know what that is?

They have a note in their earnings saying that as of 5/4/2026 a bond converted $155mm into new shares, so say hello to another 100 million shares that will be dumped on your ape heads.

Bagholders rejoice! Much improved from last year's catastrophe of a 202mm loss.

Small note in their release said they are exchanging about 100 million shares to retire about $155.8mm (or about 3%) of their debt. So expect those to fall on your head pretty soon.

Company is very excited about the rest of the year. I calculate a loss of 50-75 million for Q2! That would be a huge achievement.

I calculate only a loss of $100 million or so. Excellent for AMC! Take that shorties!

2nd Q strong so far but DOWN from Q2 QUARTER TO DATE 2025 and 2023. But still good.

I predict a mild loss of only $50M for 2Q based on my estimates.
