Just finished the TMB at 22y/o and here to answer any questions the girlies may have about doing it solo or camping!

Hey everyone! I’ll be starting the TMB in beginning of August (peak szn IK) it was kind of a last minute decision but I’ll be a solo female and was wondering about any good resources/ recommendations to use…I’ve always used all trails for hikes but no longer then 5 days maximum. This is the route I have so far and I’ll be wild camping the whole way unless I get lucky with a Refugio having a spare room. If anyone has done this route and has any research on it that would be huge I haven’t been able to map out the mileage between each yet.

Day 1: Start in Les Houches finish in Les Contamines Camping Le Pontet
Day 2: finish at Les Chapieux Camping aire naturelle
Day 3: finish at Val Veny, Courmayeur Camping Hobo
Day 4: finish at Courmayeur camping Grandes Jorasses / refuge bertone
Day 5: finish at La Fouly Camping des Glaciers
Day 6: finish at Champex Lac Camping Les Rocailles
Day 7: finish at Le Peuty Trient Camping Happy Tracks
Day 8: finish at Argentière Camping Glacier D'Argentiere
Day 9: finish at Lacs des Chéserys (requires a permit)
Day 10: finish at Les Houches

Decided to do this hike about a month ago which was pretty last minute so I’m planning on camping the entirety of the hike unless a Hut randomly has extra room. This is my itinerary for now…I could use any extra tips about planning or routes to take/ campsites as well as gear!
