Help with coaching resources
Hello everyone. I'm completely new here. My sons play on a 14u team. I have been a basketball player all my life and have played baseball maybe two seasons when I was around 10 years old. I volunteered to be assistant coach to be supportive to my sons and now there has been some falling out between our head coach and some of the parents while I was away on a cruise. He resigned two weeks before games start and the president of our association basically told me the team is mine if I want it, and if I don't it's going to be disbanded due to the lack of time to find a new head coach. I accepted the position because I don't want the boys to be boned but I feel like I'm in completely over my head. Most of these boys already know baseball much better than I do. I was hoping maybe someone knew of some resources or anything at all that could help me. I've picked up a bit from assistant coaching but I don't think I'm even close to ready and I don't want this whole team to have a terrible season because their former coach displayed a lack of integrity and left them high and dry right before the season actually starts. Any info or resources would be incredibly appreciated
