Installing G5 Turret Ultra

Does this hole need to be 31mm?

The image assumes drywall, however, I am wall mounting 3 cameras onto masonry. Can I drill a smaller centre hole? For example, 18mm or 20mm? The RJ45 connector should have plenty of clearance?

Also, the masonry is double brick. Is the RJ45 connector able to sit inside the masonry safely? The installation images have the RJ45 connector falling through the back of the wall.
