Boss ‘following up’ on emails I send
So I want to just start by saying that I have a good relationship with my boss. However she was given a promotion to be my manager without truly being prepared for it. Now she worries that people think that she’s not managing me properly so she will email on top of emails that I send to emphasis the point of the email which annoys me a lot.
Now at the start in didn’t bother me as much but I’ve noticed she only does it on emails that have some sort of escalation or is trying to resolve a problem that I’ve spotted or worked on for a while. And usually she herself has trouble managing her inbox so I always wondered what’s the point of wasting time on emails I’ve sent which don’t need her intervention when she has so many other emails to deal with. Sometimes it feels like she’s trying to take the credit for the work I do by ‘jumping in’ after an email I’ve sent. I’ve tried to raise this with her and she always says ‘it makes no difference’ but I don’t get why she does it if it doesn’t make a difference.
