What References/ inspirations did you guys notice, picked up , or found out while reading LotM?
Not obvious stuff like "oooh it's lovecraftian" cuz: My Beyonda, we both know that literally most the people who talk about Lovecraft haven't read a single work of his, and most of those who read his clown him or meme on him and say that's like " the best "lovecraftian" works aren't written by HP Lovecraft"
I'll go first and hope you guys continue the list in the comments:
"A tale of two cities"'s opening was used as an epigraph for vol 2 ending
The entire GA pathways symbolize some stuff in Religions(mostly Christianity)
The Lotm Pathways are Lovecraftian stories with a little of SCP kind of touch
The Calamity pathways are Yin and yang references.
Although Red priest is like I said in 4, it also symbolizes The Red rider which is from the book of revelations, since the red rider symbolizes war.
I'm not sure of this but the Demon of knowledge or at least the hermit pathway could be a Faust reference?
The anarchy could be a journey to the west reference, maybe?
The father of devils pathways are basically Hell and Halloween crossover , maybe a little of Dante's Divine comedy(I'm not sure though I haven't finished it yet so I can't tell)
Sealed artifacts are highly likely inspired by SCP foundation
MI9 is obvious an MI6 joke
Adam is a Christianity rip-off guy:
Dude literally made his organization called the garden of eden and named his members after the seven deadly sins, then he steals lines from the bible, YOU'RE NOT SLICK BRO THIS IS COMING FROM ME WHO'S NOT EVEN CHRISTIAN YET I COUGHT YOUR ASS PALAGRIZING.
I think that the author might have read basically any history of the world, but most likely he read "The history of western philosophy" as a base at some time in his life cuz a lot stuff a line, not to mention that the author of that book is a philosopher called russell bertrand , aka roselle, also that book covered a lot history easily. Also that book mentioned a lot of families in it like The Medici's, but that could be far fetched since it's literally history and you can learn it from multiple sources.
Klein climbing the stairs of light in sefira Castle is obvious an Aura monster cheap rip-off, CUTTLEFISH YOU ARE NOT SLICK!!!!
There's a lot of Jewish inspiration but it's obvious so I didn't want to mention it but also felt compelled to at least tell you guys about it.
Klein's persona's are obvious too, most tells you about what kind of literature Zhou mingrui read in his ordinary life.
Funny detail about Sherlock Moriarty is that he lived in 15 Minsk street which is clearly a funny Sherlock Holmes detail since he lives in 15 Baker street.
Roselle is a Napoleon like figure (maybe there was a component of Napoleon called roselle, can't tell my memory isn't clear), also a lot of his phrases and quotes are palagrizism from our Earth's philosophers that you could find online in 1 minute, without actual research.
The church's forces such as the nighthawks are clearly SCP task forces inspired.
While living in the "transmigrated" world, Klein clearly eats British-inspired diets, but he said he misses some Chinese or instant foods sometimes, so it's probably forced on him due to this world's resources and culture rather than he has to do it.
"I came, I saw, I record" is a "veni vidi vici" pun.
Edit:
- I forgot to mention that the entire Abraham family are The picture of Dorian gray references
