Whenever a team wins the Champions League with a great run, or even when a national team wins the World Cup or Euros, people often compare them with Barcelona’s 2011 team.

It feels like Pep’s 2011 Barça has become the “metric system” for judging great teams. Bayern 2020, France 2018, recent PSG, and many other successful sides are compared with that Barcelona team

But interestingly, very few people compare them in the same way with Real Madrid’s three-peat Champions League team.

So my question is Was Barcelona 2011 really the best team ever, or have they simply become the standard because of their style, dominance, and influence on football?
