CARB Compliant Flex Pipe - 2018 EcoSport
Hello everyone!
I have a 2018 Ford EcoSport (sub model S, 4cyl 2.0L Duratec engine) in NYS that needs a new flex pipe (going from the catalytic converter to the muffler pipe). However, when I see a CARB compliant flex pipe on line, it is always out of stock and I can’t purchase it. Any other flex pipe I find for my vehicle is EPA compliant and they will not ship it to NY.
So, my question is… what other options do I have to replace my flex pipe so my car can pass emissions and inspection? I was told to straight pipe, but is that really a good idea considering noise levels? I know straight piping would be a temporary fix, anyways. I’m just trying to pass inspection while minimizing noise (state troopers are bored in my neck of the woods and will pull you over if they think your engine/muffler is loud).
