self explanatory title.

I am setting up a vault for DMing and I am trying to get Modal Forms to pull information into its dropdowns from the pdf's I converted into Markdown and loaded to Obsidian. From what I understand I need to make a Dataview query for the Metadata but I truly do not know how to do that and was hoping someone here could help me out

I am setting up a vault for DMing and I am trying to get Modal Forms to pull information into its dropdowns from the pdf's I converted into Markdown and loaded to Obsidian. From what I understand I need to make a Dataview query for the Metadata but I truly do not know how to do that and was hoping someone here could help me out

So the title is sorta self explanatory but I started my vault for D&D5e with a premade Tasha's List of Everything vault that I loaded and have since converted pdfs that are built for 5e into the Markdown necessary for Obsidian to function well.

From what I understand in order to get the modal forms for PC and NPC creation or any of the other forms I need to be able to make dataview queries but I do not understand how to get Dataview to query the converted PDFs and parse that information out so that it can be pulled by the forms (or other plugins)

any assistance would be greatly helpful.
