Help with Pentair Pool Connection
Hi everyone- going to do my best to describe this situation, imagine you’ll notice I don’t know much about this by reading it.
I have the Orbi WiFi mesh system, the main router and two satellites.
Our pool uses something called the intellicenter which has a transmitter that plugs directly into the router and another transmitter outside at the unit.
For a reason that is too complicated to explain, the main router has been moved away from the modem and is connect via a series of network switches (short explanation is my work phone in my home office needs a direct connection to the router to work).
Since this move was made the pool connection stopped working.
Pentair thinks the issue is that it only operates on 2.5.
The Orbi router has a dedicated 2.5 port on the back, I tried plugging the pool transmitter directly into this port and it worked BUT it knocked out both of the satellites. Tried rebooting, etc, nothing. The second I removed the pool transmitter they started working again. Google search suggested that this had created a broadcast loop?
I then tried plugging the pool transmitter into the network switch that is receiving internet from the modem and then sending it the router, not working.
Not really sure where to go from here - should I get another switch that has loop prevention and run it from the 2.5 port, then plug the pool transmitter into that?
