Bright Midnight Norway

Spent a week in Norway back in July, a first time for me and wow what a country to ride a bike.

The views were insane (these are a few of the 1 billion photos I took) and the gravel roads have to be the best gravel I've ever ridden.

Tarmac between the gravel was super smooth, you're allowed to wild camp and everyone I met was friendly. Plus you hardly needed lights, mainly just in tunnels.

Weather was 50/50, unseasonably cold and wet (Inc snow) at the start of the week but sunny and warm towards the end. So it was a take all the kit type trip 😂

I originally went to race the Bright Midnight but it didn't go to plan.... so I switched it up and got to enjoy bikepacking taking it all in.

I made a video of my trip if anyone is interested in seeing more of Norway and what it offers:

Aethelred Ultra

2 weeks ago I rode this new event organised by Angus Young.

Starts close to Salisbury (UK), taking in some of the best gravel riding in the area including Salisbury Plain, Droves of Dorset and the New Forest.

2x 300km loops so you can chose your option and it's a figure of 8. So you can do the first loop and have a rest before you do the second! Or bike pack the whole thing over the long bank holiday weekend.

Camping, a big BBQ beforehand and a full range of Mason Bikes on display with the Mason guys supporting the event.

One to watch out for in 2027.

I made a video of my experience here: https://youtu.be/vCkhg3lhqnc

Up. Down. Dorset.

Put together a 200km route around some of my favourite bits of Dorset for a cheeky weekend or overnight adventure.

Rode it last weekend and had a great time, with an amazing sunset near Shaftesbury, dry trails and sunrise from the bivvy!

I made a video of it and the route files are in the video description if anyone would like to give it a go.
