Job corps Recommendation for Me?
I am 21 currently and plan on moving in with my significant other in the fall of this year or sometime next year. I will be moving to Kansas/Oklahoma. I’ve checked out some documents on the Flint Hills location (would go for Dental Assistant) and saw that its overall rating is ~50% but the Tulsa rating is 89%! Tulsa also offers Pharmacy Tech!
So some questions I have before I apply later this year:
Are there any better campuses near the area provided and can they provide transportation for me there?
Will they pay for plane tickets?
What campuses do YOU reccommend for whatever grade you’re in?
Are there Vet Tech options?
If you were to rate your experience at JobCorps with a 0-100% rating what would you rate it? And what are the big pros and cons of that area?
I am 21f and would like to do this as an option so I can get hired. I find I have a lot of requirements for jobs skill wise but no experience so I would like to gain that. I took a VOAG (Vocational Agriculture) program in high school along with Animal Sciences, Biology, Vet Tech 1&2 with an ELANCO Vet Certification of Medical Compliances. I am down for all medical related trades besides CNA (I believe CNA will stress me out too much and I won’t be able to handle that toll mentally, am open to being convinced otherwise)
P.S: First post kinda nervous. Looking forward to reading the responses! I want raw unfiltered advice and if you don’t think JobCorps is made for me please tell me and why, I have no idea where to go in life after I move out, this is my best option I feel but if someone with more experience thinks I could try something else please tell me 🥺
