My aunt and uncle in 1969 when they founded the company.

They started with a toolset and that truck. When he passed away he had over 150 trucks and I don't know how many employees. The whole company shut down and employees and families alike came to his funeral.

Flower Carpet at Bradford

I thought the flowers and Town Hall looked really nice today. Some bees agreed, too!

Lessons learned - related to Drivers Licenses

In case you want to avoid the mistakes I made, and to make the acquisition of a UK license less mysterious and stressful:

  1. You can drive in the UK on your USA license for up to 12 months.

  2. You cannot take the UK written driving exam until you've been in the UK for at least 185 days.

  3. You cannot book your practical driving test until after you have PASSED your written exam, and these bookings are sometimes months out. Yes, this applies some time pressure, but that's the way it's set up.

  4. If your US license is set to expire, beware that your mail forwarding does NOT apply to official government envelopes. You can renew your license, but it will not be forwarded to any other address, and it may take a while to make it back to the DMV, if ever.

  5. If you're able, in your state, to update your mailing address with them before renewing your license, I'd recommend that. You may be able to update it to whomever is receiving your mail already, and they could then courier the new license to you in the UK. I could not do that in CO, so tough luck to me.

Anyway, hope that helps someone else.
