Improvement ideas for ck3

thiss a list of points that come to mind but isn’t limited to them:

  1. Government systems:

What I propose is a tab similar to religion. You would have regionally unique systems that would be heavily influenced by culture, legacies (I will get to them later), religion and innovations. This tab would include electoral systems, Inheritance laws, gender laws but also crown authority (will get to that later), vassal/ imperial privileges,…. Feudal, administrative and tribal would serve as fundaments that would have a similar progressive function. Important hereby is that a lot of their functions would be seperated to created mix systems (eg. a realm that already established noble familys and state budgets but not governors yet). This would make this entire system more dynamic and more historically accurate

2.Power struggle (kingdoms and empires) Replacing crown authority
Essentially vassals would create permanent but not static factions. These fractions would leverage advantages to fullfill their interests (increasing vassal privileges, limiting imperial privileges, change political systems,…), tyranny wars (essentially the same thing as before if they discontent is high enough or you don’t bargain with them or other reasons), supporting successors (will get to that later. Factions can split, unite or simply be newly created. A good indicator would be the vassal indicators (glory hound, minority,…) but its not necessary that way. With higher discontent (or in other words higher tyranny and lower opinion) the factions would be more likely to unite and vice versa. The one exception is the royal/ imperial faction. The royal faction includes loyal families, families that support you (eg. gloryhound if you conquer a lot), vassals that supported you as a successor, and people with favorable traits (like loyal -> vassals with unfavorable traits aren’t in there like ambitious) This systems would replace crown authority
3.Legacies: A lot of legacies currently don’t make sense and feel very gamey (like blood or the last one from kin). Legacies in my opinion should rather affect the behavior of your house and your successions (If you want me to expand on that, just ask).
4.Successions: Currently successions works way to cleanly considering how messy it actually is. The general rule is that laws are only as strong as they are enforced. Meaning if another successor is mighty enough he can and will contest it (obv. same is true if the bloc that supports the candidate is strong enough). This can be affected by the previous lieges standing, the power of the imperial house, the standing of the successor (previous ruler can affect it similar to normadic rn), legacies, concessions, ….
5.Marriages: Make marriages important. Dowry, contracts, legitimacy and so on and on
6.Titles: I would remove both the de jure duchy, de jure kingdom and de jure empire maps. The only ones that would remain are the ones that exist already. The way you would create higher tier title is with decisions (found a custom duchy), request from head of faith, request to a higher tier ruler, legends. I would also create the casius belli to contest it (if you have low legitimacy for creating the title).
7.Economic rework: More trade routes, tolls, in general a price inflation (lets say for every 1 gold, they now have 100 bc adventurers shouldn’t have similar economic possibilities as contries), influencable holding amount, slots dependant on development
8.War rework: Sea war, more terrain importance, concessional war results, campaign financing, economic consequences,…
9. Trait rework: Alot of traits need to be progessive e.g conqueror
10. Legends rework

Those are the biggest ones I came up with
