Is my friend liable under ORS 419B.010 for not reporting to state DHS?

Because of their campus job as a preschool student employee, my friend is a mandatory reporter in the state of Oregon under ORS 419B.010, and Oregon seems to require 24/7 mandatory reporting, inside and outside of work. Since ~2021, they have been volunteering at a national crisis line in their text chats, flagging any hint of abuse, neglect, etc. to their supervisor, who would then go through the report pipeline, not informing my friend of the status of the report. This is standard practice for any normal volunteer, but due to their status as a mandatory reporter, they worry this was not enough and that they may be criminally liable.

How liable would they be if they told the crisis line and/or Oregon DHS, then made an effort to retroactively add their name to reports and forward them to Oregon DHS? Are they realistically completely fine? Are there any precautions that they should take?

Thank you, and I’m sorry if this is the wrong subreddit for such a question. r/legaladvice removed my post there and recommended I seek help in r/Oregon, which doesn’t allow such posts, or another subreddit.
