Questions about Tigerlilies/acapella
Hi! I'm headed to Princeton this fall and trying to figure out if Tigerlilies (the group I found the most interesting at Preview club fair)/acapella is realistic alongside being a student athlete. Hoping current or recent members (or anyone close to the scene) can fill me in:
• When are rehearsals usually held? I'd have practice 4:30 to 7:30pm most weekdays, so I'm trying to figure out if Tigerlilies typically rehearses in that window or works around it.
• How often do you rehearse per week, and how long are sessions?
• What does the audition process actually look like? Solo prep, callbacks, how competitive is it really? Would having a good voice naturally be enough or do you recommend voice lessons over the summer?
• What's the total time commitment when you factor in performances, tours, recording, social stuff?
• How many performances/gigs per semester, and are they mostly on campus or off? I hear there's a lot of international travel involved?
• Has anyone done Tigerlilies alongside a varsity or club sport, or is the schedule pretty much incompatible?
• What's the group culture like: close-knit, casual, intense? Any sense of how it fits with the rest of campus life?
Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance!
