Freezing at MODE_SENSE_06 on Samsung USB 3.1, macOS Tahoe 26.5 online recovery never boots. someone help pls
Specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
- GPU: RX 6700 XT 12GB
- Motherboard: ASUS Prime B550M-A
- Storage: HP NVMe M.2 EX900 500GB
- OpenCore 1.0.7 Debug
Trying to install macOS Tahoe 26.5 via online recovery on a Samsung 256GB USB 3.1. Boot always freezes at:
[IOSCSIPeripheralDeviceType00:DetermineMediaWriteProtectState] [Flash Drive]: MODE_SENSE_06 failed after 0 retries, last serviceresponse: 2; TaskStatus: 0
Then shows the prohibitory icon.
What I've already tried:
- USB 2.0 front panel port and all rear USB 3.0 ports
- Isolated to only keyboard, mouse and installer USB
- Remapped USB with USBToolBox Windows tool, UTBMap confirmed working
- Followed Dortania guide fully for B550 + AMD Zen 3
if someone knows what to do with it i would love to hear it it would prob help a lot!
