AirTags Gen 2 vs cheaper Find My tags for 6 months in SE Asia?

Hey everyone!

My fiancée and I are heading to Southeast Asia for 6 months (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and maybe China - maybe other countries too).

I'm a bit of a safety freak, so I want to put trackers everywhere, main backpacks, daypacks... everywhere! We both use iPhones.
I'm torn between buying Apple AirTags Gen 2 and cheaper third-party alternatives (like the Eufy SmartTrack 4-pack), which is something like half the price here.

I know these aren't live GPS trackers and that third-party ones lack UWB (but i do not know if this is really usefull in this scenario?)

Is paying double for Apple actually worth the peace of mind?

Maybe someone here was in simillar dillema and can tell what they decided?

Would love to hear your experiences. Thanks!

(Disclaimer: Ive helped myself to translate this post with translator, I hope its understable as english is not my main lang.)

Do I need a Pure Sine Wave UPS for a laptop server and NAS? (Also seeking setup advice)

Hi,

I have a small home server setup in my living room, so silence, low temperature, and long-term reliability are super important to me.

My gear:

  • ThinkPad T490 (no battery, running Ubuntu Server)
  • Ugreen NASync DXP2800 (with HDDs)
  • TP-Link Archer AX1500 router

I know there are tons of threads about pure sine vs simulated sine wave, but opinions online are really split and honestly, I don't know much about electricity. I'm confused about what actually applies to my specific hardware.

UPS options:

If simulated sine wave is totally fine for my gear: Should I go with Eaton 5E 700 G2 or CyberPower UT850EG? Which one is quieter (ideally completely fanless in normal mode), runs cooler, and is more reliable? Or do you have another recommendation in this price range?

If I absolutely need pure sine: Is the budget-friendly Green Cell 1000VA 700W (Power Proof) okay, or is it too loud/hot for a living room? (More expensive units are kinda out of my budget, but if I absolutely need to, I can stretch it).

Bonus: shutdown orchestration question:

How should I connect the communication cables? Is it a good idea to connect the UPS via USB to the Ubuntu laptop (server) running NUT, and have it manage the shutdown of the Ugreen NAS over the local network? Or is there a better way to set this up?

Also, if you have any general feedback, suggestions, or recommendations regarding this hardware setup and gear itself, I would love to hear them!

Thanks for the help!
