Adult scared of surgery, anyone able to help settle my nerves?

Hi, I've had a squint since I was circa 8 years old, now 31 and feeling like it's finally time to deal with it as it really affects my confidence.

It's not a permanent squint, but one which happens to whichever eye I'm not focusing on (usually left as right is dominant) and doesn't happen all the time, just in bright open spaces or when looking at a screen typically. So, outside in the daylight, or in a big open office, it's pretty much permanently squint as I'm not able to control it (hence end up closing my left eye all the time to hide it).

Anyway, surgery lined up for 2 weeks time and I'm nervous as hell - never had surgery before and struggle to read of people who are in my exact situation who had the surgery (one that isn't permanently squint but wanders out in bright light).

If anyone has any insight they can share, that would be hugely appreciated.

Many thanks,

Steven

Was this a good deal for £219.99 / $290 USD

Was tracking OLED monitors during prime day sales to upgrade my Alienware IPS 240hz 1080p, was exploring the MSI 273QP for £300 but found this Koorui for £250 so slept on it overnight, next morning I get a notification it’s been reduced to £219.99 so bought it immediately. Now wondering why it was so cheap for a QD OLED..

Will be my first OLED (outside of mobile), please let me know your thoughts if this was a good buy? Bit of an unknown brand for me.
