Is it possible to regain period whilst actively trying to grow muscle
I think the title says it all…
Bit of background, last year I went into a steep deficit and lost my period from April till January. I gained it back as I went travelling and was eating whatever and not exercising.
When I returned I wanted to lose the extra fat I had gained but told myself to not go as hard as last time. I was on 1800 calories and weight training 3 times a week and doing one cardio session. I lost it again !!!
I am now on 2000/2100 calories and I plan to keep moving up, however, I want to continue my weight training and hopefully grow muscle as I go. Basically reverse diet, and I will keep going up in calories till it gets to a point I’m adding more fat at that point I want to hold. Is this possible? Do I need to keep reversing up?
My body scan says I’m 24% body fat so I’m not in an unhealthy range. If I keep adding food can my period come back during this reverse and build phase? As I’m adding more intake will my body realise it is getting the extra food despite it going towards muscle growth(hopefully)
