Why would a progressive insurance appraiser need to access the interior of the vehicle for hail damage?

This is literally the first time I have had to file a claim through insurance about anything in the nearly forty years of driving.

Last April, Madison, WI was blasted by very large hail, and unfortunately my (new to me) toyota truck was damaged. Luckily, none of the glass was broken so it's just dents. So, I'm really curious as to why this appraisal agent needed to look behind my second row seats, into the center council and my glove box. I don't get it. She took pictures of everything on the inside as well.

Honestly, it looked like she was more interested in what was happening inside the vehicle compared to what damage had actually occurred on the outside.

Am I missing something here?
