Thinking of switching to a QD-OLED but hear they can be painful to clean and can cause micro scratches.
That said, I hear the ucdm3 is easier to clean given a better scratch resistant coating. Is this true? Looking to get some perspective from those who have one.
Anyone here switch from the XG32UCWMG to the PG32UCDM/Gen3 mainly because of ABL behavior?
I’m honestly going a little crazy with the XG32. The HDR generally looks great, but in certain games (FH5 skies, Death Stranding, WRC, bright cloud scenes, etc) the ABL transitions feel really abrupt. Not even just dimming — more like visible brightness “pulsing” or sudden shifts depending on scene APL.
I’ve been hearing that this abruptness is only on the XG32UCWMG, and that that the PG32UCDM3 is better in this regard. Can anyone confirm? Also curious about something else: how is the coating/screen surface compared to the XG32? Little paranoid about scratches when cleaning on QD-OLED’s.
is the PG32 actually noticeably better in terms of ABL behavior? If so, how so?
does the screen coating feel any less delicate/easier to clean?
I can handle gradual dimming. It’s the abruptness that’s driving me nuts.
