Looking for apartments Nearby Loop Campus
The following is what we've been looking for and i'll include some questions after the fact
- Move in range is irrelevant as my partners mother is taking care of Rent and is willing to spend "extra" to reserve an apartment for a month ahead (June-> August 5th preferred though.)
- Our rent range is at most $4000-4300 including other amenities, we're okay with places less than this
- My partner is looking for a 30m drive to the campus, but i would much prefer them being able to walk
- 800+ sq footage is preferred
- 2 bed is preferred( with any baths) but if the square footage is big enough, 1 bed is fine
- We have 2 cats, but they are emotional support animals with the proper paperwork
- In unit laundry is a must! The only thing we would prefer past this is having the entire place to ourselves, When i lived in chicago i had poor experiences in the duplexes.
1a. If its at all relevant, the things that i want are stuff like fitness centers/pool maybe, but this isn't required at all, this is more so peace of mind for my partner as they dont want me walking around at night without knowing where i am (which is fair, especially for somebody who hasnt lived here prior)
So the extra questions i wanted to ask are the following. My partners mother is cosigning, she is retired and independently wealthy, while I don't have a job lined up yet as we are currently in the Bloomington area. The problems we are having is that she does have a felony charge for something that happened a long time ago, will this affect our chances at finding places?
We're currently looking into presidential towers with a high chance of being approved, but we've heard a ton of horror stories regarding the place and we'd rather not risk that type of stuff.
If its at all relevant, me and my partner have been together for 4 years now and have been going strong, we had a real estate agent tell us that boyfriend/girlfriend might damage our chances, lol
