False settlement
Im unsure where to proceed. I received a text stating I could resolve my account if I paid 50% with a date on it. I then didn't do anything for a few days and they followed up with how they'll inform my credit about the payment within 40 days if I paid. I then asked for my account number to login to see and only the whole amount was an option. Texted back that I didn't see the resolved amount. They replied stating that I should make a one time payment for the settlement amount because it only shows the full amount.
I paid the settlement amount.It's been about maybe three weeks now. And I just got a notification that fifty percent of the debt has been paid off to my credit. I thought if I paid the amount that the whole goes off my credit.
Was i tricked?
They used the words resolve my acount first then after asking about the amount they clarified settlement amount for payment. I have all this over text its short but it has the account number and website link I used. I moved amd didn't receive anything info on this other than phone calls. They just started the texting thing. And it is on my credit if you didn't infer such
