Could humans simply lack the cognitive ability to understand some truths about reality?

For example, a dog could never understand calculus no matter how much time we gave it. Its brain simply isn’t built for that level of abstraction.

So what if humans are in a similar position relative to certain aspects of reality?

We often assume that with enough time and scientific progress, humanity can eventually understand almost everything. But is it possible that some truths about the universe are fundamentally beyond human comprehension — not because we lack technology, but because of the limitations of the human brain itself?

And if science is ultimately done through human cognition, wouldn’t that mean science itself could be constrained by our cognitive architecture?
