Kalifornia's Crime Stoppers Poster/Possible Release Date For DJ Big Tim Da Hardezt Undaground Single of 97/98 And Recording Date Of Blackout's "Outta Site"

Shout out to the user who showed me this Crime Stoppers poster for Kalifornia's murder. This poster was released following the MOB rapper's death on 10/11/97 and includes a picture of the former MC.

Since Kalifornia was murdered in October 1997, this means that DJ Big Tim's Da Hardezt Undaground Single Of 97/98 (1997) would've been released sometime in late October or November of 1997 as the tape was dedicated to Kalifornia. Kali's death date also alludes to "Outta Site" off of Blackout's Under The Influence (1998) being recorded sometime in 1997 before October.

BOD Dark Sanctuary, The Genesis Experiment - Origin: Unknown (Prod. by Fathom 9) [2000]

The Genesis Experiment- Origin: Unknown is Fathom 9's first album from 2000 when he was going by Brotherhood of Doom Dark Santuary. The album wasn't given an official CD release but was briefly circulated amongst Fathom 9's affiliates in Blackhaven at the time before he would post it to his Bandcamp in 2011 for a worldwide audience.

The best way to describe the production and style of this album is that it's a experimental fusion of different styles. The rapping, rhyme schemes, flows and production are a mix of Memphis and East Coast inspired.

Features on this album include DVSJ, J Mecca, G-Stick, MC KD, Inner Conflict, Taran Chilla, Subliminal, M.O.S (Milk/Yasin Allah, Derelic¹, and Duke/Atiba), and El.

This album, along with his Time Warp: What?! compilation, would some of Fathom 9's earliest productions before he would join Iron Mic Coalition.

RIP and Happy Heavenly Birthday to Fathom 9 🕊🙏🏽

¹Derelic is the new alias of Trife from Castalia Posse/South Circle Klick, a Castalia-based group that was ran by Kountry Boy Marty and T-Mix back in the early to mid 90s.

Anybody here remember Desert Moon Café/Fresh Mexican Grille? If so, what did you think of it?

As the title suggests, does anybody here remember Desert Moon Café/Fresh Mexican Grille (depending where you were it was either Café or Fresh Mexican Grille)? They were an American Mex chain similar to Baja Fresh, Taco Bell and Del Taco that was popular in the 90s and 2000s.

They sold your usual American Mexican fast food items like hard shell tacos, burritos, taco bowls, quesadillas, beans, rice and taco salads. They were typically found in either plazas or mall food courts. I remember the food being much better than Taco Bell and the other American Mexican fast food places.

Despite their popularity in the 90s and 2000s, they started declining around 2007-2009 and became obscure by 2010-2011. The last location was at the Danbury Mall in Danbury, CT, which ended up going out of business around 2022 and is now a burger place called Chomp Chomp.

Am I the only one who remembers this place? If anybody else remembers Desert Moon, what did you think if it? Did you like it or dislike it?

RIP to Rob Base (5/18/67-5/22/26)

Rob Base of Harlem-based duo Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock has passed away today 🙏🏽🕊. Known for being the MC of the duo and for being the vocals on and the co-producer of their legendary hit "It Takes Two" off of their 1988 debut studio album of the same name, Rob Base had been fighting cancer for a while and has sadly passed at the age of 59.

RIP to both Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock 🙏🏽🕊. Both of you made one of the most legendary songs in Hip Hop history.
