Keppra stopped working, I can’t afford pheno blood testing, what are my possible choices?
It has been working great for the last 4 months but the seizures are occurring more frequent now and it breaks my heart. His regular doctor recommended pheno next and she said it’s lifelong and requires frequent testing to make sure the liver levels are good. Everywhere is quoting me 500-1000 every 3-6 months apparently that this needs to be done and it’s scaring me. On top of that he just got a chemistry panel 3 weeks ago where the liver values were elevated, so I know I’m more than likely gonna be required another blood testing upfront
I’m just so defeated, I’ve spent over 10k between this and other health problems on my 11 year old dog and I don’t know if I’m fighting an endless battle or what. I just want to make his last years comfortable, regardless of what he might have, and I’m just so conflicted as to what to do
