This has been one of my biggest projects yet. The goal was to create a modular forest where you can build:

Living trees

Dead trees

Fallen trees and logs

Rope bridges

Tree & branch platforms

Rope ladders

Bushes, grass, rocks, and other scatter terrain

Everything is designed to mix and match so you can build a different forest every time you play.

Thanks to everyone who's followed the project and offered feedback along the way it really helped shape the final set.

The mushroom expansion set is in progress.

Links in the comments.

I've been designing a modular FDM-friendly forest terrain system for D&D. Looking for feedback before I release it.

I've been designing a modular forest terrain set for D&D. The focus is easy FDM printing, minimal assembly, and terrain that actually affects gameplay.

Current pieces include modular trees, bushes, grass tufts, stumps, dead trees, and fallen logs. Looking for feedback before I call this set finished. What would you add or change?

It's still a work in progress.

I've been designing a modular dungeon terrain system for FDM printers. Looking for feedback before I expand it further.

I've been working on a modular dungeon system that I designed from scratch for tabletop RPGs.

My goals were:

-Easy FDM printing

-No tiny connectors to lose

-Multi-color printing instead of painting

-Modular rooms and walls

-Removable props

-Hidden features like secret walls and trap markers

-Compatibility with my cave and tavern sets

This setup includes:

-Jailer/warden office

-Jail cells

-Secret wall

-Pressure plate trap marker

-Broken wall leading into a cave

-Modular furniture and decorations

I'd love some honest feedback. What works? What would you add or change?

I Designed a Modular Terrain System Where Every Set Connects Together

Hi everyone! I'm James, a millwright and tabletop terrain designer from Florida.

A few years ago I started designing modular terrain because I wanted dungeon tiles that were easy to print, easy to assemble, and compatible across different themes. Since then I've created cave, tavern, and dungeon systems that all use the same connection system, allowing them to be mixed together into larger adventures. I've also added features like removable doors, magnetized props, fog effects, and stackable layouts.

I design everything myself in Tinkercad and print on FDM printers with a focus on minimizing assembly and painting.

You can find my STL files here: https://thearcanumemporium.etsy.com

You can follow my builds and experiments here: YouTube: https://youtube.com/@3dtileguy?si=QDUHLFG3rybaLqQ4 TikTok: 3d.tile.guy

Thanks for checking out my work! I'd love to hear what terrain themes, props, or features you'd like to see me create next.

Update on my wireless lighting experiments for tabletop terrain

Hey everyone! I'm back with another update on my wireless lighting experiments. But first off I'd like to thank everyone for the support and suggestions on my last post I appreciate it very much. I added some crystal formations to my latest test and I'm pretty happy with the results so far. I also tested it inside one of my test builds to see how practical it would be for actual gameplay.

The goal is to have lights that can be placed throughout the terrain without needing wires running to each individual piece.

Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions!

I've been working on a modular cave system that actually fogs!

Hello everyone! I've been working on a modular FDM-friendly cave terrain system designed to be simple and easy to use without needing loose clips or connectors.

The pieces fit together directly, and I've tested them on three different Bambu Lab printers so far.

One feature I'm particularly excited about is the built-in fog system that lets fog travel through the cave walls and into the dungeon.

I'd love to hear what you think and any suggestions you might have!
