After we got that Sprout video where he talks with Astro, I've thought'd a bit more about the symbolism of these Trinkets. I will mostly just be talking about these trinkets and what they might represent. The more I think about these, the more interesting it gets.
The first thing I wanna mention is that these Trinkets, at least if you think about how friendship bracelets are usually done, they're kinda strange. Now admittedly I do now know a lot about how people usually do friendship bracelets, I never really made those, so take this part with a grain of salt. Don't you usually make bracelets based off the person you want matching bracelets with? Why would one wear a bracelet based off themselves? I thought'd it might be because Trinkets often shared colour palettes / have an colour palette based off with the Toon they're from, but this isn't always the case, like with Gigi and her Lucky Coin.
Why is it that the bracelets are based off the Toon they're from? Here's my guess: what if the bracelets are metaphores for the Toon themselves? So the Savory Charm is representing Sprout, and the Sweet Charm Cosmo. I will build onto this later
Another thing I wanna mention is how Sprout talks about Cosmo in the security footage with Astro:
"I don't want to keep feeling like a part of me isn't actually here, and all these episodes make it so clear that being his friend, having him around is part of what makes me."
So its clear that Sprout sees his relation with Cosmo as a part of who he is. He doesn't feel complete without him. And although we don't know if the same holds true for Cosmo, I think its likely, especially since he's the side character of the 2. He's meant to be essentially Sprouts sidekick. There are lots of ways to make a friendship bracelet, but of course, the Sweet and Savory Charm just so happen to have a something attached to it where you need both for the complete picture. Sprout needs to have Cosmo around to feel complete (and Cosmo likely needs Sprout to feel complete too), and you need both the charms to make a whole.
One thing I do wanna talk about is why the image formed is a flower, specifically one that looks like Dandy, and, honestly, I don't have a clue outside of some guesses that are stetches. I think the most likely reason why its a flower, even though a heart is more common for a friendship bracelet, is to remove explicit romantic implication, even if romance wasn't the intention, especially since there are romantic censors on Roblox. There might be a bit more to this, I'm willing to hear your theories.
Another thing I wanna mention is something related to teir Twisted counterparts. This was pointed out to me by a post made by a Tumblr user known as 'veryshyblahajguy' (all credits to him for this). Its no secret that Sprout and Cosmo have mirroring Ichor spots., but whats relevant to this is where the Ichor isn't. Look at Twisted Cosmo from the front. The ichor is on the left side of his face and on his left hand (from our view, it is Cosmo's right hand if we were to look through his eyes). So theres no ichor on his right. And the Sweet Charm just so happens to have the right side of the flower. The reverse is true for Sprout, although I do wanna point out that the side of the Ichor was the same on his unused Twisted Sprout concept. Feel free to draw your own conclusions.
So yeah, those are my thoughts on the Trinkets (for the most part, I haven't touched uppon them mechanicwise, but outside of both being Trinkets in the "other" catagory, I don't think theres much to cover there). I hope you enjoyed reading this little analysis and I hope you have a nice rest of your day!
