Would this mechanical object work on a desk, or is it too much?

I’m trying to make my desk feel a bit less digital and more physical.

This is a small real combustion engine I’ve been working on with an Italian machinist. It can run, but most of the time it just sits there as a mechanical object.

I’m trying to understand if it actually works in a desk/studio setup, or if it feels too much / too gimmicky.

Would you keep it here?

Would you change the base, position, lighting, or surrounding objects?
