I am corporate employee in Washington state. I was on Focus and went into FMLA leave during Focus which will exhaust in a week. My doctor recommended to extend to use Short term disability leave.

Can Amazon fire me during STD leave as it’s not federally protected? How can I ensure job safety during the LOA and avoid targeted firing?
