My right hand keeps hitting/slapping this tape. Is it a bad idea to remove it?

I need a guitar so that I can practice at work during lunchtime and at hotels when I’m traveling.

I’m optimizing for ergonomics… Tired of the tiny Ultralight Electric from Traveler Guitar. I like the center of gravity the Strandberg apparently has, but feel concerned about the Enduraneck. The Hills guitar looks less weird, but I’m not sure if the quality and ergonomics will be comparable with the Strandberg.

What would you get?

1 - Strandberg Boden Essential 6 (b-stock for $875)

2 - Hills HNT1 ($499 new)

I don’t mind paying for the difference if I’m getting something substantially better.
