
Hey there folks! It's been a few weeks since the last update and there's been a lot going into this one, too. Cannot thank everyone enough for the support you have shown the app. It's been almost three months and the app has continued to grown in folks using it for their campaigns. For lack of better words, I am blown away! Thank YOU for making HeroQuestGT part of your parties tools.
A new direction with the UI is emerging. These changes are geared toward making the app better and more convenient for players who are at the same table or have one or more players who are far away (remote). Where some of the changes will allow some of the future features being worked on now or in planning to potentially have a better space(s) to reside. Some of these upcoming changes are...
- The Dice Roller will have easy access directly from the Heroes & Zargon Tools screen.
- The Map Tracker will have easy access directly from the Heroes and Zargon Tools screen.
- These changes will allow players to traverse fewer screens while still having the same tools at their finger tips.

The following is now live in the build.
Heroes Screen
- Equipment Equipped vs in inventory - You can now place additional items in a "bag" to store and save for use later. The limitation of only one equipped item per slot still applies.
- Equipment Bag - There is now a master equipment bag, visible once you open the equipment section.
- Scrolls - New scrolls section now exists, with appropriate scrolls. Located under the potions sections.
- Second Ring Slot is now here.
- Homebrew Support
-- Potions now supports creation of homebrew potions. You can edit created custom potions once you add them to a hero. You will see a pencil to the right to edit them should you need to.

Map Tracker
- Object placement has arrived! You can place, move, rotate, and remove.
- Basic furniture pieces have been added to each room for placement. Since the app is not intended to replace the board, furniture appears as brown square (depending on the dimension of the furniture.
- Hazards such as Traps have been added to each room for placement.
- Monsters have been added to each room for placement.
- Special items such as trap doors, fire or ice walls, or stairs or icy patches have been added to each room for placement.
- Quest NPCs from several expansions have been added to each room for placement.
- Doors have a toggle to show if they are open (green) or closed (red).
Zargon Tools
- Hero Cards have been grouped under the "Hero Tracking" button. This area can expand and collapse to make traversing this screen smoother and quicker.
- Monsters Hard Mode - This will allow Zargon to increase monster health or body points to create a greater challenge. This at first will be a flat increase. Example, Zargon enables Monsters Hard Mode and can flatly increase all monster health by +2, or all attack rolls gain one skull automatically, or +1 mind point for all monsters. You can also increase attack and/or defense dice by one each.
- Monster Rebirth (Skeletons, Zombies, Mummies) Toggle. Remaining implementation coming.
- Damage over Time toggle has been created and added. Links to Hero Character sheets. Shows green drop next to hero name to signify the status effect.
Heroes Screen
- Mage Study Attempt - Regain Spells Mini Game (Homebrew)
-- Outcomes Success, Failure, Exhaustion, Wandering Monster!, Potion creation.
-- Found in the Wizard Hero Card.
-- Rolls a D20 die as there are a handful of outcomes.
- Damage over Time toggle has been created and added. Links to Zargon Tools Hero Tracker. Shows green drop next to hero name to signify the status effect.
Online
- Looking for Quest - Create Group
-- Discord Connectivity is here!
-- When you create a group the app will automatically create a channel for you in the official HeroQuest Game Tracker discord titled as your session key.
-- Others who join your party will be shown the session key and can navigate to in the HeroQuest Game Tracker discord to the channel that has the name of your party key. This will help you chat with your party members, schedule game nights, and can also be a great place to stream the game board for remote party members.
-- PLEASE NOTE - The Password to join the game session is not given to party members and should be kept private so others can't mess with your campaign progress. PRIVATELY provide the password to party members.
-- Discord is fully optional, I am just trying to give the community more ways to connect.
Global
- Various translation updates.
The Future
- (RESEARCHING) Leveling System for Heroes - How could leveling be meaningful. Could leveling unlock things. I am not a fan of a leveling system increasing character stats (such as body points or mind points). I do believe a perk system could work well. Such as have a max of 20 levels and ever 5 levels a hero would receive a beneficial perk that could be hero specific. Such as Dwarf, at 15 the perk could be gain a second charge of disarm trap. Or the elf at level 10 gain the perk of jump one trap per quest. Etcetera.
- (RESEARCHING) Monster Nemesis System - A monster escape system, similar to how Zargon could teleport a monster to another place within the dungeon; however, this would allow a monster to grow in strength. Perhaps the monster can gain a perk or feat. Perhaps the monster gains a resistance. Perhaps the monster can escape death multiple times.
- (RESEARCHING) Forcing Mind Points for Wizard Casts, which would include a system for mind point regeneration.
- (RESEARCHING) Ice Gremling Stealing Items. Implement a "Stolen Bag"
