Hey everyone,
Looking for some guidance from people who may have been in a similar situation.

Background:
• H1B approved in late 2025
• Booked a visa stamping appointment in India shortly after, but it got postponed to early 2027 due to the new social media screening requirements
• My passport was expiring before my rescheduled appointment, so I proactively renewed it and have already received my new passport

My questions:

Do I need to submit a completely new DS-160 with my new passport number, or can I update the existing one?
If I submit a new DS-160, do I need to update the barcode in my CGI Federal appointment portal?
Should I bring both old and new passports to the interview?
For those of you also pushed to a 2027 appointment — are you actively trying to reschedule to an earlier slot in 2026? If yes, any tips on how you’re monitoring and grabbing earlier appointments?

H1B India Stamping Appointment Postponed to 2027: Passport Renewed in the Meantime. Do I Need a New DS-160?
