
Changing my Plan
I’ve been using Runna to prepare for my marathon on July 26th. Yesterday I ran a B Race half marathon with the first 8.5 miles at 6:49 pace. I chose the strong and steady option for this b race, as I knew I wanted to give it a hard effort but not completely disrupt my training by going all out, however I ended up running faster than the workout pace given to me on Runna. I notice next week on my plan is an 18 mile race practice long run. During this run they want me to run easy for 5 miles, then 8.5 miles at 6:50 pace, then 4.5 miles easy. I feel like this is similar to what I just did in the half marathon and don’t think it’s necessary for me to complete this race practice long run since I just ran this pace for my half marathon yesterday. I feel like this half marathon was helpful in indicating my fitness. I’d like to know is there any way I can change this 18 mile race practice long run so that it’s a normal long run, since I just did this in my half marathon yesterday???
