Having pain/throbbing two weeks after root planing/scaling procedure and getting worse…
Over two weeks ago I went to the dentist and they told me I needed a deep cleaning or root planing and scaling procedure. I was having sensitivity to heat on one upper left tooth and they said it looked like I had some gaps/deep pockets on my X-rays and when they did the numbers with the tool there were a lot of 3,4,5 and 6s (yep, embarrassed about this after researching afterwards). I’ve always been excellent at brushing AT LEAST twice a day but my flossing can be spotty. (One of those folks who would slack off, try to play catch up but still thought I did better than most.
Anyway, I am sure I needed the procedure done. Wasn’t too bad, sore a little for about 15 minutes no joke and felt fine. Until a couple of days ago, my gums have been feeling sore - started on one side but today the all felt a little sore like after a rough cleaning and just now I flossed/brushed and they are SCREAMING/THROBBING…
Plan on calling tomorrow if it isn’t better, but what is the deal?
When I look at my gums they seem tightly pulled back from my teeth where I didn’t notice it before… now I’m scared they will feel like this forever!
