First time adjunct professor
I just finished my first time being an adjunct professor for a high level college course. It was a split semester where a different professor taught the first half and gave the midterm and I ran the second half and the final exam (only my half was included). The previous professor that taught this portion of the course didn’t leave any materials so I had to start from scratch.
There was one question on the final everyone got wrong so I do feel I should have covered it better. Some questions everyone got right and it was a mix of right and wrong on the rest of the exam.
The grades for the final exam ranged from 58 - 93 with an average of 76. Does this seem reasonable? Just curious if I should aim for a higher average the next time I teach the course and write the final exam.
