IT A School - obtaining a CCNA cert

After 8 years of being a CTR on AD, I went reserves and cross-rated to IT. I was told during the CCNA portion of IT A school that we leave with a CCNA certification, which is great for finding jobs! However, I just learned that this training only covers sections 1 and 2 of the CCNA material, meaning you have to study more and take the actual CCNA exam through CompTIA to legitimately have this cert. Apparently there's some glitch that allows you to appear, through Cisco's website, that you have it... but it's only partial. Just wanted to put this out there, as I wish I would've been told more accurately. I would've immediately studied and took the exam for CCNA after just a few more weeks.

It is the golden standard for junior network engineers right now!

Also, if you're seeing this during the summer of 2026, there is an amazing prep course designed by Network Chuck and his buddy Jeremy, the IT guru. It's only 30 bucks a month for access to all their labs and coursework. Easy to follow along, very thorough, and entertaining. They're running it until August 28th, I think. Just search "Summer of CCNA" :)
